In 2026, the Maison des Arts celebrates its 200th anniversary.
Three exhibitions marking this milestone explore “the house” — its public and private spaces, as well as its garden.

From the late 19th century onwards, the house became a cherished place for receiving others. It bears the traces of spaces and their functions, shaped for each individual according to social class, gender or age.

For the exhibition Habiter la maison, artists draw inspiration from the little monsters of the dining room, unsettle bourgeois codes, or slip beneath the living-room carpet. Very little of the family furniture remained in the attics of the Maison des Arts. For this anniversary, the exhibition design brings together the artists’ interventions with a few selected pieces of furniture. Two or three armchairs and some flea-market guéridons, gathered for the occasion, make the house feel — for the duration of the exhibition — even more alive for the visitor.

Collective exhibition with Sébastien Alouf, Benoit Bastin, Priscilla Beccari, Frédéric Biesmans, Jan de Vliegher, Myriam Hornard, Louise Limontas & Antoine Moulinard.
